This is one of the few TI calculators that uses a VFD display and it still works perfectly. The calculator was modified to use two standard AA batteries, a holder for two AA fits perfectly inside the case, therefore eliminating the need for using it with an AC adapter and rechargeable battery. The old BP2 battery has donated its cover to make a cover for the calculator battery compartment as can be seen in the images.
